Stubborness

BabyAJ Jan 9 2015Any one who knows me knows I can be stubborn to a fault. I’ve accepted it and apparently have passed this along to Baby AJ. We had our 12-week ultrascreen (genetic testing and ultrasound to check for Down Syndrome) on Friday, Jan. 9 and I was more excited to see the baby than worried anything could be amiss.

But, Baby AJ had other plans and was all over the place. Literally, the baby was bouncing off the walls and facing every direction except the one the tech needed him/her to be facing. My first ultrasound was only mildly uncomfortable as the tech dug a little into my stomach … this one, was downright painful.

She bounced the wand against every inch of my abdomen, pelvic area and upper stomach … so much so that my pelvic bone bruised a little. Even the extra prodding couldn’t motivate Baby AJ to cooperate.

Go figure.

We didn’t really get a good look at the baby’s profile either, so that was a little disappointing. Especially after seeing so many other clear ultrasounds of other 12 week babies.

So, we’ll be back on Wednesday to see Baby AJ again. Prior to this appointment, I am going to be having a little chitchat with the baby and ask him/her to politely cooperate.
