I’ve always said that I am not a runner. Not in my wildest dreams. Not by any stretch of the imagination. If Willy Wonka opened his doors for free chocolate for all, I’d calmly walk in and hope to God my fellow chocoholics despise running as I do. If I were being chased, I’d hand over whatever they wanted and go on my merry way.
Why am I telling you this, you ask? Well, because I have gone and done the unthinkable … I willingly signed up for a 4 mile walk/run … as a runner. Oh, dear cupcakes, what have I done. I can’t even lie and say I was coerced into it; this was all my idea. Yep. I suggested we sign up for a run. On Thanksgiving.
To prepare, I plan to kick off next weekend with a 2-Day Shakeology Fast, followed by a month of Rockin’ Body (you know, actually following the plan instead of just doing the ones I want to) and then hitting the Couch to 5K plan starting in September, which means that, gulp, I am going to have to tie on the running shoes and strap my iPhone to my arm and hit the pavement. Lord help us all.

If you are in the Nashville area and care to join me in my insane plan, check out I Run For The Party and sign up for the Music City Thanksgiving Day Walk/Run benefiting the Nashville Rescue Mission.
