A Picture is Worth More than the Scale

Sometimes we are our own worst enemies. We look at ourselves with such negativity that we often miss the things that others see. I’ve been struggling with motivation and negativity for the last few weeks. So, I Facebook stalked myself to remind me just how far I’ve come.

These photos date back to 2003ish and represent nearly a lifetime of weight and self esteem struggles. If I could go back and teach myself the right way to lose weight and get healthy, I could have avoided so much.

As a chubby girl, I learned quickly that face photos are the best self deception tool. I could take a photo of just my face and go, “see not so bad.” But looking back, I can see how the yoyo dieting and unhealthy habits affected my face. I don’t even recognize the girl in some of these pictures.
