Kicking the New Year into Gear

As you know, 2013 is a mere 3 days away and as I have mentioned in previous posts, I am setting goals and not making resolutions. I have not posted these yet, but one of my personal resolutions was to finally sign up as a Beachbody Coach. And as of two weeks ago, I did. My first project was to try some new products, including Energy & Endurance (E&E), which I have been wanting to try for a while.

When it comes to energy “drinks” or pre-workout formulas, I am always very cautious. Why? Because I have one of four reactions: 1.) A whole lot of Nada; 2.) Crazy hyper Andrea-Mode, 3.) Super Irritated Bitch Mode; or 4.) A Completely Normal Uptick in Energy. I always hope for #4 when trying new stuff; but I normally get either 1 or 3 (3 is especially fun during 2 hour meetings at new jobs, sorry guys!). So, understandably, I’ve been a little hesitant to try E&E.

Last night was the first time I’d tried it and I burned about 20 more calories during Slim in  Ramp it Up and felt energized the rest of the night. I was still able to go to be around 10 (I drank 1 scoop around 6:30) and was able to fall asleep.

This morning, I drank another scoop before doing a short Rockin’ Body workout (decided to skip Slim in 6 because I am also starting the 2-Day Fast today). Since this was the first time doing Rockin’ Body with my HRM (Polar FT4), I don’t have an accurate gauge of calories burned in previous workouts, but during the 25 minute workout I burned 246 calories.

So far, so good. Just a good old normal uptick in energy. I also felt like I was able to push harder and “dig deeper” during both workouts.

On Monday, I will let you all know how the 2-Day Fast goes.
