Setting New Goals

HowFarYouveComeIt has been a rough couple of months where my fitness and health goals are concerned. As I’ve mentioned before, I fell a bit off the wagon back around May. Overwhelmed by some big ass goals I’d set, I started doing the “you only live once so eat all the cake” excuse game. By all the cake … I mean ALL THE CAKE.

Where does that leave those big ass goals I’d set? Well, let’s just say about 10 pounds of goal found their way back to me.

I am working on getting back on track – focusing more on feeling better and less on pounds and inches. For someone who hates numbers, I sure waste a lot of energy obsessing over them.

Right now, my only goal is to feel and be healthy. Why? Because feeling and being healthy will ultimately lead to reaching the cosmetic and physical goals. Obsessing over numbers and sizes is not healthy for me. I beat myself up and stop celebrating progress and get down because I don’t look like someone else, which is not motivating.

What is motivating? Having energy, having clear skin, gaining confidence, feeling healthy, being excited to get out of bed, and the list goes on and on. So, focus on being the best you and not being the best someone else. Trust me, you’ll be much happier and healthier.
