NaNoWriMo

I may be slightly insane – in addition to entering the holidays, busy times at work, finals in classes  … oh, and National Novel Writing Month. Fifty thousand words in 30 days. Yep, you ready that right, 50,000 words in 30 days. Easy peasy, right? That remains to be seen.

Writing is my passion – the one thing I feel at home doing and the one thing I can completely allow myself to get lost in. Over the last four years or so, I’ve dabbled in writing (outside of work and blogging) and I’ve missed committing to and focusing on a goal and completing a work.

There are characters and stories in my imagination that need to be written and I’ve used the excuse of time constraints for far too long. So, I am accepting the NaNoWriMo challenge and committing to writing at least 50,000 words this November.

I have the idea for the novel and some outlines of characters and chapters. The real writing doesn’t begin until November 1, but now I am working on researching and developing.

As I write the novel, I will be posting each chapter as it is written – flaws and all. My intent is the write the story; share it with my family and readers and then once completed, go back and edit and work on re-writes. After that, who knows … either way, I am writing.

Come back on November 1 and click on the Fiction tab above to come along.
